Riptide: How to- score a bad cover with Dave Winchester

Quite clearly the main draw card of purchasing a bodyboarding magazine such as riptide has to do with its prestigious "How to Section".

If you have been out in the water and just can’t quite nail that full rotation air reverse, let one of the pros run you through the theory of it in a few hundred words of text… and there is no doubt your well on your way to success.

Today ‘Crazy’ in collaboration with Riptide magazine brings you “How to tail bog a reverse, not make it and it end up on the cover, with Dave Winchester”

First of all you need to be in a prime location such as South oz and be surfing freakishly good and have a photog on hand to capture your glory moment.

Second of all you need to win the riptide peer poll which guarantees you the cover shot for the peer poll issue.

Thirdly whilst shredding and doing large inverts and air reverses throw in a reverse bash off a section, bog your tail, not make it and paddle back out slightly disappointed

Fourthly after the trip you wait in anticipation hoping and wishing that one of those big moves ends up on the cover and NMD might re-consider your contract after this cover and pay you more than what a 16 year old child working full time a Macca’s earns.

Fifthly (is that even a word?) you get word from the gang at riptide you have nailed the cover and you celebrate accordingly until you open your email to discover what shot they have run…

You open to find that possibly your worst wave/move of the session has been thrust upon the cover in all its glory, you then proceed to shake your head and are puzzled and slightly dumbfounded at the events that have just unfolded.
